Fast Shape Matching and Shape Analysis Using Shape Contexts and Wavelet Transform

چکیده

Shape matching or recognition is computation intensity work in shape analysis. Paper [3] proposed an efficient shape matching method using shape contexts (SC). In this project, wavelet transform is used to scale or compress images into much smaller sizes and then shape context algorithm is used to match shapes. Simulation results show that the matching speed is faster and matching results are more accurate than those without digital Wavelet transforms (DWT). Applications of shape matching using SC and DWT in several areas, such as medical image processing, face recognition and biology, are specified in this project. Software implementations using proposed shape matching scheme is accomplished. Index Terms Shape Analysis, Shape Matching, Shape Contexts, Face Recognition, Wavelet Transform
